With the development of fine blanking technology, fine blanking increasinglywide range of applications, the fine blanking progressive dies which can combine withfine blanking and other stamping or forming processes were also widely applied inproduction practice.However, the fine blanking CAD systems that developed in thecurrent mostly still contain only punching, blanking and other basic fineblanking technology,and were not fit for the design of the fine blanking progressive dies.Therefore, domestic mould designers still design the fine blanking progressive dies bymanual drawing in the current, The problem of the low designing efficiency and theinconvenience of modifying that lead by manual drawing was still exist in the field of fineblanking progressive dies.For this situation, a parametric designing method for working parts of fine blankingprogressive dies was studied in this paper on the basis of SolidWorks. This paper madethe researching objects of the fine blanking progressive dies CAD system become ninesingle processes by taking the working structure of complex fine blanking processes breakdown into the structure of based and auxiliary processes firstly, and then made the designof single processes’ working part become the design of punch, concave cavity,ejector andso on by taking the working part break doAfter analysising the fine blanking progressive dies’ feature, the function of thefine blanking progressive dies CAD system and its working part designing section, thispaper achieved t associated designing of the working part’s based structure and the inputmould of part, the working part’s auxiliary structure and the working part’s based structure,the auxiliary processes’ working part and the based processes’ working part by using thetechnology of based on sketch, based feature recognizing, knowledge based reasoning.According to the input test of typical fine-blanking parts model, the parametricCAD system could complete the part design of mold working parts effectively, andthus the problem of the low designing efficiency and the inconvenience of modifying wassolved in a certain extent.
