Considering the special shape, lots of specifications and complex rolling technology offlat-bulb steel etc., single hot simulation tests were conducted on Gleeble-1500thermo-mechanical simulator at different temperatures, strains and strain rates. Thestress-strain data of the tested flat-bulb steel were obtained. The most suitable deformationresistance model for the tested flat-bulb steel was obtained by measured data based on groovedesign theory of flat-bulb steel and actual production situation. Main technology models forthe calculation of flat-ball steel rolling schedule are selected. Moreover, the calculationsoftware for rolling schedule of flat-bulb steel is developed using Microsoft Visual Studio2008development platform and C#programming language. Through this system, rollingschedule of flat-bulb steel can be calculated online based on the input of steel billetspecifications and product size as well as other parameters. The system is characterized byeasily to use, accurately calculation and strongly practicability, which can provide theoreticalbasis for schedule calculation of flat-bulb steel in real production. The product design cyclecan be greatly shortened and the needs of more specifications of ball flat steel production canbe met by the developed software.
