As the chemical power supply, lead-acid battery is widely used and in great need inmodern industrial production. The negative plate of lead-acid battery consists of grid,which is made from lead belt. The quality of lead belt will directly influence the servicelife and performance. Lead belt is produced by the "lead strap continuous castingequipment". Therefore, structural design and theoretical research of lead belt castingequipment are particularly important.Here are the relevant design and research about lead casting equipment.Firstly, according to the product technical specification, do the feasible schemedesign and comparison. Select the “wheel type casting machine” as the optimalsolution. Besides, verify the motion performance of wheel typer casting machine,andstudy the calculation method that transforms the continuous casting process parameters(cooling water flow) into convection heat transfer coefficient.Secondly, build mathematical coupling model of3D temperature and stress field incontinuous casting zone after studying theoretical knowledge of heat transfer andmechanics. In order to finish the simulation successfully, some simple and basichypotheses are made, and the reasonable boundary conditions are applied.Finally, do thermal structure coupling analysis for the continuous casting zone onthe “wheel caster”, study the influences of cooling water flow and the material ofcrystallization wheel outer ring on the temperature and stress field of the continuouscasting zone. It comes to a conclusion: based on the simulation result analysis, it helpsdetermining the optimal cooling water flow under the given conditions; using40Crinstead of Cu as the material of outer ring of the crystallization wheel can effectivelyimprove its life.In this paper, based on ANSYS thermal structure coupling analysis, study theprocess parameters of continuous casting zone of wheel type casting machine, itprovides a theoretical reference for determining process parameters of lead-strip casting.
