Grinding is one of the most important processing technic in the process of machining, as the end of the machining process in general, in order to obtain accurate machining precision and good surface integrity. With the continuous development of manufacturing technology, the traditional grinding has not satisfied the needs of the current demand, grinding technology is developing in the direction of precision and ultra precision machining, especially the emergence of the nonmetal material of some hard, wear-resisting, it puts forward new challenges to the existed technology of grinding. Traditional bonded abrasives are easy to jam due to the disordered organization on the grinding wheel surface, friction increases temperature rise, it results in the surface burn of workpiece eventually. This not only influence the surface integrity of machined part, but also reduce the service life of the grinding wheel. In order to improve the performance of grinding wheel, grains on wheel surface in an ordered pattern is an effective method. the phyllotactic pattern theory in biology is introduced into the design of CBN electroplated grinding whee in the article, the wheel surface has good capacity chip space and reasonable grinding grains density by means of the phyllotactic pattern. The single abrasive grinding wheel with different patterns grinding surface roughness of workpiece is studied by means of phyllotactic theory research, the mathematical model of wheel with Phyllotactic pattern grinding surface of workpiece and simulation comparison experiments, at the same time, the plating process of CBN grinding wheel is studied. The detailed research content as follows:(1) By means of research of phyllotactic pattern theory to make sure the role and significance of phyllotactic parameters, the influence of every phyllotactic parameter on the arrangement of grinding grains is analyzed, so as to provide the basis for reasonable selection of phyllotactic parameters.(2) Based on the theory of phyllotactic pattern, the mask exposure technology is explored, the plating process is optimized in order to make out the cylindrical electroplated grinding wheel of single CBN abrasive with phyllotactic pattern.(3) The mathematical model of workpiece surface roughness about cylindrical grinding wheel of single abrasive is established, analyze the influence of phyllotactic pattern parameters and other grinding parameters on the surface roughness of grinding workpiece.(4) Influence of phyllotactic parameters and other grinding parameters on the surface roughness of workpiece is analyzed by means of simulation of MATLAB to make sure the effective growth coefficient, to test the performance of grinding wheel with phyllotactic pattern by means of simulation comparison of phyllotactic pattern,disordered pattern,staggered pattern and matrix pattern of grinding wheel under the same condition of abrasive particle density.
