Research On Reduce The Maintenance Time Of Cold-rolling Mill By Method Of Six Sigma

The importance of preventative maintenance on equipment management implementation is focus on regular maintenance and taking preventative actions. This maintenance approach has been highly contributed to the development and stability of Company A’s production. However, this preventative maintenance approach leads to some degree of negative impact on extra maintenance and hence to increase the product cost by additional maintenance cost.To improve Company A’s product competitiveness in the market and get maximum return on the least equipment maintenance cost, we should extend the equipment use-lifetime in a running cycle as long as possible, at same time to decrease the maintenance cost. Of course we should also make sure the equipment is under good operation status. This article simply introduces6sigma theory, company A’s check and maintenance model. The article investigated equipment’s annually maintenance scheme of the1420cold-rolling-mill by6sigma system.1420cold rolling mill have4main lines, which are Picking line-tandem mill combined line, Continuous Annealing and two electroplate tin line. To decompose the factor which influence the maintenance time, the main factors are one repair hours and repair periods, by using the method of cause and effect diagram, research the deep reasons, measure and analyze, and find the key factors which influence the repair time, establish the countermeasure about it, validate the research effect, such as prolong the interval time between two repair plan, prolong the use-life time spare-parts, prolong the use-life time of the rolls, and optimize the repair working procedure and repair technics.Through the research of the article, to decrease the maintenance time, made improvement plan and had pilot run in the production site. Also summarized the experiences after the pilot run which has been a theory foundation on broadly implementation in further steps.
