Along with the social progress and economic development, sub-health conditions happen to more and more people, such as obesity, hypertension, cervical problems and so on. It has been studied that riding horse can alleviate these symptoms. However, it is not realistic for most people to ride horse outdoors. Therefore, an indoor sport facility which can simulate the jogging of a horse is needed. Consequently, the gymnastic horse comes into being.In this paper, the mechanism design of gymnastic horse is inherited from the brother’s gymnastic horse project. Firstly, through referring to relevant information and based on the in-depth understanding of the motion law of horses, the mechanism combination theory and the mechanism variation theory, the "V8" type movement law as the horse is strolling is simulated by properly fitting the combination of crank-rocker mechanism and cylindrical cam. The eccentric shaft mechanism derived from the variation of crank-rocker mechanism simulates the longitudinal "8"-shaped motion of the horse, while the cylindrical cam simulates the horizontal swing of the horse. Then, Pro/e software is adopted to preliminarily design the three-dimensional models of the parts. And the necessary dynamics simulation and stability analysis are carried out after assembly.After that, the first scenario of control system is preliminarily designed and implemented. In this system, AT89C52singlechip is used as the core, the appropriate DC motor is chosen according to the necessary torque, and the proper PWM DC actiyator and signal isolator are selected to reduce the error of control system. This scheme can achieve the speed adjustment of gymnastic horse, but can not show the actual operation speed of motor when it is loaded. Therefore, in this paper, a modified version of control circuit program is further introduced, the speed measurement module is added, LED display module is replaced by LCD display module, the joint debugging of Proteus and Keil C is used to conduct the circuit simulation, and the desired results are achieved. In the design process of entire control program, C language is adopted to complete the edit work in the Keil C software.Finally, in order to enrich entertainment functions of the gymnastic horse, the design of MP3function is added to make the exercisers enjoy the music while doing exercise. In addition, for the functional diversification of gymnastic horse, the embedded system on the basis of Fujitsu MB9BF506chip is explored in the paper.
