Since1981, the CNC system gradually has been developed with the man-machine dialogue, dynamic graphics, software precision compensation, fault diagnosis function and so on, and intelligent, flexible, modular multi-processor structure has been appeared. Remote Processing is researched in this article by using of virtual reality technology and network technology on the open CNC machine tools produced by Googol (Shenzhen) Technology Co., Ltd. Virtual machining environment is created by using of Solidworks modeling and interactive technologies of3D animation and Virtools. Physical machine and digital prototype are controlled synchronously by the PC of Open CNC system. The machining process is monitored and changed by operator on PC in order to achieve human-computer interaction. Master-slave control is researched through the network PC and PROFIBUS bus serial devices and procedures, which enhance offsite processing capacity of machine. The main contents of this article are as follows:(1) The advantages of open CNC system are described and the application of open CNC system in a virtual environment is summarized. Necessity and importance of virtual reality technology is illustrated in the application of off-site processing.(2) The motion control of multiple-axis and communication between the motion control card and PC in open CNC System are analyzed:On the one hand, open-CNC system hardware structure is analyzed; On the other hand, PID parameters of the machine tool are set referring manual and PID control theory. The synchronous movement of virtual prototyping and physical machine is overall designed.(3) The three-dimensional solid model of machine tools is created by making use of SolidWorks based on analysis of mechanical structure of CNC machine tools. The model is changed into a format of Virtools using3ds Max.(4) Data processing and interactive control is realized in Virtual environment. Synchronous motion is complied initially by using programming code wrote by Visual C++and the SDK library of Virtools software which drives machining process of machine and the movement of virtual model at the same time. The initial study of off-site processing is researched with PROFIBUS serial communication. (5) Virtual environment is more realistic by adding collision detection, variable-angle camera and rendering virtual environment. The system structure diagram, the core code and the NC experimental picture are provided.
