As a hot technology, virtual reality technology has deeply penetrated into all areas of people’s lives with its excellent characteristics. In the field of education, the rapid development of some new educational models, like distance learning, training teaching, online multiplayer co-operating, was vigorously promoted by virtual labs and virtual simulation training system. Chemical production is one of the major industry of our country’s development, however, in the field of practice chemical training, the structural model of personnel training has always been very single and lacked of innovation, and then can’t get a better training effect. Therefore, for the features of chemical training project and the requirement of the new model for personnel training, introducing the virtual reality technology into the teaching of chemical production, and building chemical training simulation system with high immersive and versatility make great significance. So in this paper, we study the construction of the chemical class of three-dimensional virtual simulation training system, which focus on the production process for ethyl acetate in chemical production, and virtual scene interactive design method based on Virtools is used.Based on current development of domestic and foreign virtual simulation training software, and combined with the characteristics of the chemical simulation, our work deeply discussed a variety of technical solutions for construction of chemical virtual simulation training software. The main design idea together with development way for the collaborative chemical production three-dimensional virtual simulation system was established. Using Virtools three-dimensional software as a development platform, we constructed a collaborative chemical production three-dimensional virtual simulation system with a strong immersion, human highly interactive, real-time dynamic simulation through scripting and extension technology, and successfully combined the three-dimensional scene virtual simulation operation with the two-dimensional DCS simulation system, which made chemical virtual training platform more comprehensive. Using ChemCAD as the main simulation calculation software, and combining the results of simulated and actual production data, the mathematical model of the esterification reaction was constructed with openness and scalability, and the results of the esterification reaction were simulated under different conditions, which met the needs for the users learning principles. Meanwhile, the network server (Server) module for achieving online features in Virtools and the communication method were used,and the collaborative operating system was built, and the methods and the key technologies which achieve collaborative system were elaborated in our paper.The collaborative chemical production virtual simulation training system which developed in this paper has high simulation degree, strong interaction, and perfect DCS control system functions, it also has powerful data processing for real-time data model and complete the whole training process. The system can be used in the areas such as university courses for chemical production training, and factory for pre-production staff training, etc. Its collaborative construction mode plays a good role in guiding for developing way to explore chemical training class talents.
