Recently, with the increased mechanization in coal mining, coal quality have changed a lot. Slime content in raw coal is higher and higher, especially occupy a great proportion in the raw coal prepared into washing. In the circumstances, whether size fraction of-0.5mm slime have been sorting in an high efficient way or not, directly affect not only washing efficiency and economic benefits of coal preparation plant, but also the quality of circulating water, therefore, affects the entire washing process. Thus, effective treatment of slime water in coal preparation production is essential.The former process of Xinglongzhuang coal preparation plant run low sorting accuracy of size fraction of-0.5mm slime, and so is the recovery rate, leading to the loss of slime in the tailing, and the loss of clean coal, and the impact of washing quality. Therefore, slime separation process in plant should be reconstructed, in order to improve recovery rate of coal, and increase the profit.Through analysis of the former process and comparation of multi-program, considerable amounts of clean coal can be recovered through flotation. So the slime separation process of Xinglongzhuang coal preparation plant have been settled: water-mediated cyclone group+cut crude of curved screen+slime flotation+tailing concentrate filter press. That is, size fraction of-0.5mm are recovered by grading, and classificated by water medium cyclone group, coarse slime are cut and recovered by curved screen, and size fraction of-0.3mm are into the flotation. To establish a reagent system that fits for slurry treatment process in Xinglongzhuang plant, a great amount of reagent tests have been conducted, especially flocculation sedimentation and flotation tests.Finally, the optimized slime sorting system are under sampling and testing, and process effect analysis has been conducted. The coal recovery rate, the clean coal yield and the tailing slime ash increases, thus, so as the benefits of the plant. This process has advantages such as technically reliable, high separation efficiency, simple system, easy to operate and manage if running normally.
