With the innovation and progress of the machinery manufacturing processing technology, the automotive industry requirements for spiral bevel gears are also greatly improved. Spiral bevel gear is usually installed on a specific tool cutter for processing, European cars generally use Oerlikon spiral bevel gear tooth system, its processing uses a dedicated tool bar tool.The accuracy of the tool bar has a decisive role on the appearance quality Oerlikon manufacture spiral bevel gears. The Oerlikon cutting tool has multiple sets of system parameters, measuring tool parameters have important significance, by the inspection of the new processing product tool, it can determine whether it satisfies the requirements of the mechanical design; Furthermore, the Oerlikon tool parameter measurements of the production and processing can timely replace the worn tools to reduce the number of gears waste severely, which improves production efficiency. So the methods research on the measurement of Oerlikon spiral bevel gear tool parameter has great practical value and significance.This paper studies the principles and methods of processing parameters on the tool bar dedicated laser non-contact measurement of the Oerlikon gear, and based on this the hardware measurement system is designed. The system drives the probe on the XY plane, and combined with the circumferential movement of the tool on a dedicated jig knives of the rotating table, to achieve data acquisition of the Oerlikon tool surface points.Software system process data to realize the tool parameter measurement.The main contents of this study include:1. It studies the measurement method of the spiral bevel gear teeth Oerlikon strip tool parameter deeply;2. The program of demonstration is designed for the measurement system mechanical structure.Using a laser displacement sensor probe moves in the XY plane, and with the rotational movement of the tool, the system can complete data collection of tool surface points;3. According to the selected measurement system solutions,the design of the main structural components of the hardware system, including the XY stage, laser displacement sensor assisted positioning device, marble platform and the centering four-jaw chuck clamps and other mechanical structure design are completed.The key parts such as the XY platform and the centering four-jaw chuck were checked;4. The method is studied to extract the parameters from collecting data of the tool. Using Visual C++compiler environment I complete the corresponding software module design, and the experimental results is given.
