The headframe of mine is a key structure to install large-scale equipments ofelevating and ventilating system. Except the stimulation by all equipments, it alsousually suffers the natural stimulation by wind and earthquake. Strong structuralvibration not only endangers the safety of the headframe, but also badly influences thestability and production efficiency of the elevating system. According to the Standardfor classification of seismic protection of building constructions, such buildings aredivided into class B and they belong to key protected buildings. Thus it`s practicallysignificant to study the energy dissipation and seismic mitigation of mine headframe. In this article, we choose a headframe in HuaiBei as an example. The basic model ofthis building is set up by the finite element program SAP2000. We briefly study thedynamic property of the structure and the response of the headframe in frequentearthquake and rare earthquake are given. The fundamental and status of energydissipation and seismic mitigation are also introduced. This article mainly introduces themechanical model and application of the viscous damper in real project. At last, by choosing different viscous dampers of various parametric, we compare thedynamic property and damping effects of different models with different dampers.Discuss the sluggish attenuator the different form and the scheme of arrangement to thestructure earthquake resistance performance influence. The best scheme of damper andlayout pattern is found out for the future seismic strengthening.
