Drilling is the primary means of exploration and development of oil and gas. Drilling rig is the key equipment of oil drilling project. To ensure the safety of state property and employees, normal production of drilling, it is extremely important that the evaluation and optimization of oil drilling system. In the drilling project, completion is the final link, the process to connect the wellbore and oil reservoirs. Completion plays the role of connecting drilling and production engineering. Evaluation and optimization of completion technology can obtain maximum capacity cost-effectively.This paper describes the types of drilling rigs and common completion techniques of domestic and foreign. Using conditions, advantages and disadvantages of drilling rigs and completion techniques is also analyzed. On this basis, evaluation and optimization of drilling rig, and evaluation and optimization of completion techniques are both further described. Using fuzzy comprehensive decision method to establish a risk evaluation index system of drilling rigs based on completion techniques, and fighting for the Ordos Basin in northern Shaanxi slope central XIAONANGOU oil region, we design and evaluate drilling rigs to its special geological environments.Fuzzy comprehensive decision method used in this paper can be used to evaluate factors which are uncertainties and difficult to quantify. This decision-making method can be applied to risk assessment based rig completion technologies.
