The welding process is a very complex physical change process, it was influenced by thewelding current, welding voltage, arc radiation, arc heat radiation, spatter and so on, and withthe development of welding automation, people put forward higher request to the detectionand control of welding quality. The welding process automation and digitalization are thedevelopment trend of welding, it is an important means to ensure the welding quality,improve working conditions and raise production efficiency. It is the development direction ofthe welding technology.This paper takes the radiation of arc and weld pool as the research object. We studied theradiation spectrum information of welding arc and weld pool, respectively. The weldingsensing system arc radiation and weld pool heat radiation sensing system were developed.The main works are as follows:First of all, through the study on welding arc plasma radiation characteristics, combinedwith the characteristics of the arc light radiation sensor in the welding process, the weldingarc radiation sensing system was developed a set of software and hardware combination. Thehardware part introduces the working circuit of sensor welding electrical signal and themaking of sensor, and the sensor and data acquisition card selection. The software part isbased on the LabVIEW language to develop an application control hardware which control toacquisite data signal of arc welding. Secondly, through the system do a large number of theexperiments, collect the spectral information of infrared and visible light, synchronousacquisite data of electrical signals in welding process at the same time. In the differentwelding parameters, analyzing the droplet transfer frequency, mode, the welding current andthe infrared radiation intensity of MIG welding arc.Finally, in order to research the characteristics of molten pool on the heat radiation,developed a set of sensor system on the welding pool heat radiation. The system use thewelding arc light reflected of surface and molten pool and radiation of liquid metal on theweld pool as the receiver signal source, and analyze the information of weld pool in thewelding process. It introduced the overall design of the data acquisition system, and describes the realization of the principle of data acquisition system and the hardware design of thesystem at the same time.
