Mining is the indispensable important part of our economy, and jawcrusher plays a crucial role in mining. However, there are low efficiency,highenergy consumption and other issues exist in jaw crusher. Therefore, in order toimprove efficiency and reduce the energy consumption, design and study of jawcrusher are necessary.The compound pendulum jaw crusher is the research object of this paper.The change rule of resultant crushing force suffered by moving jaw isresearched and analyzed, and its analytical equations are obtained. The changerule is applied to the dynamic analysis in the process of crushing; whenanalyzing the dynamics of the jaw crusher, the new simplified model of jawcrusher is proposed. Based on this model, the reaction forces and trimmingmoment are calculated and analyzed, and the results will be compared with thekinetic parameters based on the simplified model of traditional four-bar linkage.Finally, taking the frame of compound pendulum jaw crusher as the researchobject and using ABAQUS software, the modal analysis of frame is carried out.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1) According to the structure and working principle of jaw crusher, the interaction between eccentric gear and moving jaw and the change rule ofresultant crushing force suffered by moving jaw are researched. Based on theseresearch results, the new simplified model of jaw crusher is proposed.(2) Based on the jaw crusher model, the kinematics simulation andmodeling of jaw crusher are created. The model is solved by using MATLABsimulation platform, so the angular displacement, angular velocity and angularacceleration of components and the movement of displacement, velocity andacceleration curve of any point at jaw crusher can be acquired.(3) According to the data of kinematic analysis and the new simplifiedmodel, the dynamics analysis of crusher in the working process can be carriedout and the reaction forces and trimming moment are solved. The results will becompared with the kinetic parameters based on the simplified model oftraditional four-bar linkage; Based on two kinds of simplified model, thedynamics analysis of crusher at no-load running condition can be carried out.The reaction forces and trimming moment are solved and will be analyzed.Through the above analysis, because of too much simplified of the traditionalsimplified model of four-bar linkage, biggish model of error will be bring indynamics analysis of crusher. Therefore, it is necessary to create the newsimplified model.(4) Taking the frame as the research object, using the powerful features ofthe finite element analysis software ABAQUS, the modal analysis of the frameis carried out, and the natural frequency of each order and relative vibration mode are calculated. By these, the frame would resonate in the working processof the jaw crusher. It provides reference for the crusher structure optimization,and also provides a basis for selecting motor parameters.
