The oil-camellia cake used in this research is the residue which was produced after extracting oil-camellia oil with the aqueous-enzymatic technology using the seeds of Camellia oleifera Abel. The deep processing of it not only can reduce waste emissions, but also can create economic value. This thesis focused on utilizing the oil-camellia cake with the microbial fermentation to produce alcohol, studying and optimizing the saccharification process and fermentation process. The main results are as follows.1、the main composition of oil-camellia cake was determined by chemical analyses. The result showed that the cake contained about1.26%glucose,2.17%total sugar,17.4%starch,16.9%crude fiber,1.88%crude protein,7.29%crude fat,1.74%camellia saponin.2、According to the response surface optimization test conducted for the acid solution saccharification of oil-camellia cake, the optimum hydrolysis conditions is as follows: concentration of sulfuric acid is2.1%, hydrolysis temperature122℃, hydrolysis time37min, ratio of solid to liquid is1:5.1. Under this condition the reducing sugar concentration of hydrolysate is66.53mg/ml.3、Through bacterium fermentation screening test, take alcohol production (g/L) and yield (%) as an index, the better results of single strain fermentation were ascertained:that is beer yeast21.2g/L and39%; Angel Yeast18.2g/L and38.55%; Saccharomyces cerevisiae(CCIC:1406)22.4%and40.02%; pachysolen tannophilus21.7g/L and41.05%; grape yeast16.65g/L and36.95%. Then next mixed fermentation test will using these five strains. The finalized fermentation was selected by comparing single strain fermentation with mixed strain fermentation. With Saccharomyces cerevisiae and pachysolen tannophilus mixed strain, alcohol yield reach to24.55g/L. When Saccharomyces cerevisiae mixed with pachysolen tannophilus in a2:1inoculation proportion, the alcohol production was24.3g/L. There was little change in alcohol yield but alcohol yield up to44.77%.4、Optimum fermentation parameters of wet camellia cake hydrolyzed sugar was that: inoculum concentration4%, fermentation temperature29℃, fermentation time52.5h, pH5.7, Under these conditions the alcohol yield of hydrolyzed sugar was25.35g/L.
