Triphenylmethyl derivates have attracted much attention,which may arise mainly from their bulky group and application to the fields of polymer and medicine.These compounds bearing triphenylmethyl have attracted great attention by the chemists because they could present chiral spiral structure after having been polymerization.A lot of helical polymers contained triphenylmethyl group have been synthesized as yet.In this paper,a new triphenylmethyl derivative:5,5,5 -triphenylpent-2-methyl-1-en -3-one(1,2-propanediol) ketal was synthesized.5,5,5-triphenylpent-2-methyl-1-en-3-ol was synthesized by the reaction of 3,3,3-triphenylpropanal with isopropenylmagnesium bromide, then,5,5,5-triphenylpent-2-methyl-1-en-3-ol was oxided to 5,5,5-triphenylpent-2-methyl-1-en -3-one with the Dess-Martin Periodinane.Then the 1,2-propanediol was used to protect carbonyl group to obtain the target material.We hope this triphenylmethyl derivative terminal olefins will be useful in the field of helical chiral stationary phase after chiral polymerization.In the process of synthesising the triphenylmethyl derivative terminal olefins,several triphenylmethyl derivative intermediates have been obtained.Synthetic conditions and the methods have been discussed,the curves of the effects of synthetic conditions was drawed.
