Acetochlor is a kind of acylamine herbicide well applied before shooting in dry land. At present in china, acetochlor is always synthesized by chloromethyl ethyl ether intermittence method. But the crude product always has high impurity and low content, and causes corn drug-harm easily while going with environmental pollution. The new process of azomethin can result in higher purity products and higher rate synthesis, and its has several advantages: mild reaction conditions, less waste, no equipment corrosion.In this thesis, we have reviewed the recent advances in the studies on the pesticide, herbicide, acylamine herbicide and synthesis process of acetochlor; The new process of azomethin for acetochlor is emphatically discussed. Began with 2-methyl-6-ethyl- amine, proceeding from azomethine, t-acylailine to acetochlor, obtaining better ways to synthesis them. It is a breakthrough for the new process of acetochlor, but it is evident that research here has practical value for butachlor, propisochlor et al. This new process is a real less waste, is emphatically coherent method. Under the optimum reaction conditions, the purity and yield of the product were over 98.16% and 92.0%, respectively. Meanwhile, the ammonium chloride can be gained as a by-product.The effect of react time, react temperature, material confect and suitable solvent have been compared and discussed emphatically. The factor that may affect each step is anatomized and each reaction conditions are optimized. The structures of the intermediate and product were confirmed by means of 1H-NMR, IR, GC-MS, then analyzed the possible source and reason of the impurity. The structure of the intermediate 2’-methyl-6‘-ethyl-N(chloromethyl)-2-chloroacetanilide was determined by X-ray determination.Medium experiment is made about the new process on the basis of laboratory’s condition and the problem met in the course is argued and analyzed. By mending the equipment, 2 -methyl-6-ethylazomethme produced in a tower reactor and the quality and yield of final product mostly conforms to lab’s level in medium experiment.It is proved that the new process we have improved having obvious economy benefit, society benefit and environment benefit is suitable for the synthesis of acetochlor.The new process we have researched has several advantages:low cost, high purity and higher yield, manipulate easily, low energy sources, and its environment benefit is emphatically. As the protection of global environment in these days, it is a great attraction for enterprise of acetochlor.
