A Study On The Development Status, Problem And Solution Of Farmers' Specialized Vegetable Economic Coorporative Organization In The City Of Wuhan

As one of the most important carrier of the construction of New Countryside Program, the farm economic cooperation organization has developed rapidly in recent years. This article studied the farmers'cooperatives organization of vegetable in Wuhan city, and also analyzed the whole vegetable industry on its development situation and existing problems. We also analyzed the cognition of participatation and the influencing factors for the vegetable cooperatives organization. Finally, some corresponding strategies and recommendations were put forward.Firstly, this article review the existed research on farmers'economic cooperation organization following this seven aspects, namely concept definition, development history, definition, necessity, development types and patterns, and relations with government. We found that there were several shortfalls in the existing study:(1) There are little effort on the micro-level evaluation and analysis about the farmers'economic cooperatives organization. (2) Most of the study focused on the case of certain province or certain area and keep far from the real industry situation, thus it has too broad study eyeshot to concentrate. (3) There are little effort on the combination of empirical investigation and normative analysis.Secondly, we use of a questionnaire survey combination with the literature research and case investigation method, analyzing the features, number, type and characteristics of Wuhan vegetable farmers'cooperatives organization. And the following observations were gained in Wuhan cooperative organizations:(1) They developed fast, and showed the rapid scale expansion tendency. (2) They basically have standard construction themselves with the voluntary participation, democracy management, relying on the vegetable industry. (3) They have gained primary brand effect based on the local vegetable growing characteristics of the special industry region. (4) The association provides not only a single service but also a comprehensive set of professional services. (5) They have got profound positive social achievements on improving the farmers' organization level, promoting the industrialization of vegetables producing, strengthening regional recourse integration, optimizing vegetable industry structure, promoting the construction of the agricultural social service system, fostering the modern farmers and harmonious village, and so on.Thirdly, we select two districts, namely the Caidian district and the Jiangxia district as our main investigate spots. By using economic and social theory, we focus our study on farmers'cognition and their evaluation for the local vegetable cooperatives organization. On one side, the analysis of farmers'vegetable producing indicates that:(1) Farmers mainly plant vegetable, and it forms their major income. (2) The price of input elements goes too quickly, while farmers participate the corporative aiming to solve the problem of vegetable products sailing. (3) There are high appraisement on the organization's overall assessment, most of the farmers believe that the cooperatives organization may have a good momentum and will be better and better in the future development, and willing to remain in the organization. On the other side, the analysis of evalution for farmers' vegetable coorperative orgnization shows that:evaluate several parameters including the farmers'participation in the frequency, duration, and the organizational internal management assessment, participated willing, trust degree to the organization and the gained benefit, also the existing problems and so on. Except the farmer's organizational trust level, all other factors are have significantly positive effect to farmers'evolution for the corporative organization.Fourthly, based on the empirical research, several proposals were put forward:(1) Improve the interior government mechanism to ensure its development healthily. (2) Emphasize the important role of farmers and also adjust with the Government coordinating guidance. (3) Increase the support effort, and perfect the external policy environment. (4) Improve advertisement and training and review the perspectives on the vegetable professional associations. (5) Explore diversified development patters and enhance the influence of corporative organization.
