Due to China'sgarmentmarkethasbeenfullyopened,foreigngarmentbrandsareracingtooccupythemarket.Duetothechangeofthemarketenvironment,thedevelopingspaceforthedomesticclothingbrandisnarrowing.Thereforehowtoplanterminalcommoditieseffectivelyand upgrade the overall performance of the terminal shops by using the product categorymanagementarematterswhichChina'sgarmententerprisesneedurgentlypayattentionto. Categorymanagementisaneffectivewayintheretailterminaltoenhancethecompetitivenessand sales volume. The operating performance of category management has been confirmedthrough the practice of transnational retail enterprises. This paper studies how to improvemerchandise ordering planning and goods supply through the utilization of categorymanagementwiththepurposeofcontrollingterminalclothinginventoryandsalesperformance.Furthermore, the combination of data analysis of Garment ERP system with the theory andpractical experience in Clothing Marketing and Clothing Commodities Management helpsauthorfocusontheutilizationoftheoreticalknowledgeofqualitativecategorymanagementinthe clothing terminal commodities planning, and explore the clothing category managementfromtheorytopractice.First,byreadingandcollectinglargeamountsofreferences,theauthorsummarizesthebasicconceptsandapplicationprocessesofcategorymanagementandthebasicconceptsofclothingterminal.Andthen,categorymanagementisconductedintheclothingstore,throughwhichtheclothing terminal ordering and goods supply could be well planned. Moreover, this paperfocuses on analyzing the utilization and conduction of category management in clothingterminal. Meanwhile, through sampling test of category, the author practically plans theclothingterminalcommoditiesforawomen'sclothingbrand.Byanalyzingtheorientationofterminal marketing and the characteristics of terminal customers, this paper not only plansclothing commodities ordering, goods supply and good display, but also analyzes how toeffectively conduct category management in clothing terminal on the base of real cases.Additionally,methodsofutilizationandprocessesofapplicationaresummarized;strategiesand proposalsforthecategorymanagementofclothingterminalaremoved;GarmentMarketing,Clothing Management, Garment Merchandising and other related theories are referred to,combined with field surveys, research, and goods operation. Additionally, a large number ofchartsforterminalsalesdataanalysisandcomparisonaremade;quantitativeandqualitativemethods are comprehensively used to conduct category management in planning clothingterminal product. Finally, the systematic conclusion of this study is made to point out theinadequaciesofthispaperandfollow‐upresearch.Accomplishment of this research: by analyzing the methods of conducting categorymanagement in clothing terminal, the way of the clothing terminal planning are explored.Women's clothing category is systematically summarized; characteristics orientation of theclothing category is profoundly thought and the concrete procedure of the categorymanagement in clothing terminal is studied, helping to provide garment enterprises with areferencemodelintheirbusinessoperationinterminalmarket.
