An Evaluation On Chinese Shipping Industry's International Competitiveness Based On Intellectual Property Rights

World shipping market is a highly unified market,while the shipping industry is a strategic industry for global competition.With the deepening of economic globalization, the international competition of world market is increasingly fierce,and countries are making efforts to support and develop shipping industry. As a comprehensive industry with the character of labor-intensive,capital-intensive and technology intensive, various enterprise within shipping industry increasingly emphasis on the important role of core technology for international competitiveness. Especially in the context of knowledge economy,knowledge product and core technologies constitute the fundamental sources of international competitiveness. Therefore, this article researchs Chinese shipping industry's international competitiveness from the perspective of intellectual property rights.At first,this paper introduced the research status of shipping industry's international competitiveness and the basic theories related to this article, such as the Competitiveness and intellectual property rights theory. Then defined and analyzed four functions of intellectual property rights, including the function of stimulation and innovation, the function of resources gathering, the function of regulating market and the function of government management. On this basis of the four functions,this article researched the mechanism of intellectual property rights for the shipping industry's international competitiveness. Subsequently, the paper analyzed the main affecting factors of shipping industry's international competitiveness and established evaluating index system of shipping industry's international competitiveness based on intellectual property rights, then used the method of index to evaluate comprehensively Chinese Shipping Industry's international competitiveness from the perspective of intellectual property rights. Finally, according to the results of the evaluation,this paper raised corresponding countermeasures and suggestions of enhancing Chinese shipping industry's international competitiveness.
