Research On The Spatial Distributing And Modes Of Energy Efficiency In China

Energy is not only the motility of economy development, but also the significant index of national force and people's standard of living. With the development of the global economy and the speeding process of the industrialization, the contradiction between energy production and energy consumption, as well as the contradiction between energy and environment, is becoming more serious. How to break this bottleneck, and to realize the harmonize development of energy and environment, is turning into a spotted issue in the whole world. There is the same pressure in China. In the eleventh five-year plan, reduction of energy consumption per unit GDP has been made the target to reduce twenty percent energy intensity, which is also ranked as one of the eight obligatory indexes. This measure indicates that the government has made the determination of saving resources and protecting environment, which is also the requirement of scientific evolution and continual development.This paper aims to assess the discrepancy and fluctuation of regional energy efficiency in China, and discuss the modes of energy efficiency under the various dynamic factors, so as to make certain suggestion to advance the energy efficiency and to reduce the energy consumption. First, this paper starts from the theories of energy efficiency, and then analyzes the features and spatial disparity of energy efficiency through the calculation of the regional energy efficiency from 1989 to 2008.Second, the study adopts geographical weighted regression to make a research of the spatial modes of regional energy efficiency in China, which is to discuss the spatial effect and functional realization of regional energy efficiency. Last, some suggestion is made to enrich the measure of energy conservation and consumption reduction.Through investigation, the following conclusions are given:(1)Regional energy efficiency in China is taking on the disparity of descending from coastland to inland.(2) Regional energy efficiency in China has the characteristic of spatial assembling and spatial dependency, and neighbor effect influences state transition of regional energy efficiency. (3)Geographical weighted regression method is adopted, which indicates dynamic factors of four kinds bring on various functional realizations.Consequently, the spillover range of energy efficiency is different.
