Face increasing competition,Majority of SMEs need to improve rapid response capabilities of enterprises and innovation through knowledge management systems. However, the current domestic and international research and development of knowledge management systems are basically for large enterprises, Rarely consider the knowledge management needs of small and medium enterprises, and lack of flexibility and intelligence, it is difficult to apply to SMEs. Therefore, this article will use the agent technology to build knowledge management system for small and medium enterprises knowledge management needs.This paper introduces the relevant theory of knowledge management, Agent technology and SMEs. Then discuss the knowledge management strategy of SMEs, the particularity of knowledge management system and feasibility using Agent to build knowledge management system for SMEs; Then eight stages of knowledge management methods used to analyze the role of Agent in the process of knowledge management, and According to the functional requirements of SMEs'knowledge management system to summary in the Agent's knowledge management. On this basis, building Agent-based Knowledge Management System for SMEs. Definity Detaily a variety of agent'function- s,goals and operating environment in structure and agent done knowledge management within the framework; and design the internal structure of the relevant type of agent. Finally, using FIPAACL language and AMUL sequence diagram to describe all the agents complete the relevant work and content in the communication protocol. The purpose of the study is to build a reference of knowledge management systems for SMEs.
