The Study On The Mechanism Of Process-based Absorptive Capacity On Innovational Performance

Sustainable Innovation and the knowledge which sustainable Innovation depends have become the important sources for enterprises to keep their sustainable competitive advantages. However, just relying the inner knowledge which produced by R&D can't satisfy the growing need of innovation. So the function of innovation resource from outside becomes more and more significant. Though lots of enterprises discovered the advantage of knowledge acquired from outside, only a few pioneer companies got the main profit. The main reason is the differences of absorptive ability among these companies. Absorptive ability has become one of the main sources of competitive advantages.Based on the review of the related research, especially the process-baesd definition of absorptive ability, this paper establishes a model of absorptive ability, innovation performance and environmental turbulence, which played as the moderator, in order to open the black box of absorptive ability's mechanism to innovation performance. Empirically, this writer conducted a questionnaire and gets 197 data from 197 different firm, which 47 data were used as small sample test. The paper applied factor analysis and linear regression analysis to test and verify the theoretical model and raised hypothesis. The analysis results can be presented as follows:(1) These three learning processes of absorptive capacity, which are exploratory learning process, transformative learning process and exploitative learning process have positive affection on innovational performance.(2) The complementarity of exploratory, transformative, and exploitative learning of absorptive capacity has a positive effect on innovational performance, which presents that these three learning processes have synergy effect.(3) Basically, environmental turbulence positively moderates the effect of absorptive capacity's three learning processes on innovational performance. Market turbulence's moderator effect is positive to all three learning processes, however, technological turbulence only positively moderates the effect of transformative learning process on innovation, the moderator effect of remaining two are not significant.The research results of the paper can be of some help for the companies in our countries to acquire and exploit outside knowledge, enhance absorptive ability, and improve technology Innovation and performance.
