The Protection And Development Of Shou Chun Ancient City Wall And The Historic Building

The main part of the magnificent Shouchun wall was built in the Southern Song Dynasty in the Jiading years (1208—1224). It has experienced more than 900 years. It is one of the constructions with long history and a vast quantity of work of Shouchun monuments. Historic buildings which represented by the ancient walls in the Shouchun city, they have recorded vividly the ancient political,military system,ethnic regional relations,engineering technology,environmental changes and other information and they are also rich in historical and cultural value. With the accelerated pace of urban development, the emergence of many new things and the demise of the old things, how to protect and rationally develop and use the cultural heritage included the ancient city walls and historical landscape has become an issue that need urgent solution. In this paper, it begins by describing the purpose of the study and methods, and then discusses the related concepts. In the text, the author combines the theories and field studies. She makes use of archeology,architecture,literature,economics,tourism,management heritage law and other related academic knowledge to start the study. It explores the value of the ancient city walls. With their status quo, taking into account the latest ancient building restoration techniques, in order to find a practical way to authenticity to protect the ancient architecture which led by the Shouchun ancient city wall. The author draws on the protection and tourism development experience and lessons of Hadrian's Wall and Pingyao ancient city and put forward her own views of protection and development of architectural heritage as the main town site of Shouchun. She hope she can find out a win-win road of the protection, development and utilization of ancient architecture of Shouchun.
