Since the reform and opening up, Zhejiang's economy sustained rapid and healthy development, the living standards of urban residents in Zhejiang Province is improving, people's consumption levels are constantly changing to improve consumer in the promotion of economic development has played a very important role, but recent few years; the role of consumption in the economy by promoting a certain degree of obstruction. Consumption of China's economic growth has become an important topic. Countries to strengthen consumer demand to expand into one of the main macro-control. To expand domestic demand and improve the people's consumption rate, must examine the structure of consumption level and consumption characteristics of constraining consumption, as the country's most economically dynamic Yangtze River Delta region, the consumption of urban residents in Zhejiang Province is a typical problem. In this paper, the consumption of urban residents in Zhejiang Province and the consumption structure of function points for the two studies, the use of econometrics, consumer economics and other related theoretical knowledge and relevant statistical data on these issues for empirical analysis.Paper is divided into five parts. The first part of the background of this topic, meaning, ideas and methods of presentation. The second part of the consumption function and the consumption structure of the relevant studies reviewed. The third part of the 1990 to 2006, consumption of urban residents in Zhejiang Province and made an overall level of elaboration and the Keynesian absolute income hypothesis using regression analysis and the establishment of total consumption function model analysis. Based on the income, the price of consumption and factors such as the impact on current consumption, making a binary linear regression equation. The fourth part of the consumption structure in 2006 in Zhejiang Province were studied to establish the extended linear equations (ELES), and through the extended linear expenditure system for the residents of Zhejiang province were analyzed marginal propensity to consume. Meanwhile, the consumption expenditure of urban residents in Zhejiang Province from the income elasticity of demand and price elasticity of the two aspects of the analysis. Part V of the analysis of the previous sections, respectively, from the consumption function and the analysis of the consumption structure of urban residents in Zhejiang Province made to improve the overall level of consumption measures.
