Introducing Practice Of Environment Pollution Insurance In Yunnan

Environment Poluution,which is greatly and widely harmful and with long latency also, has become a national serious matter of the developement of society and econemy. Liability Insurance which plays a major role in society management, currently are being experineting in sevaral industrial enterprise in order to established a mechanism of transfering risk and to safeguard interests of victims. Yunnan province also did some experiments in the city of Kunming. But due to lack of insurace product, risk management tools and law practice, the process of Environment Pollution Insurance Mechanism(EPIM) is still slow, not only in Yunnan but nationwide.This paper introduces the evolution history of environment pollution insurance and operating models in the US and EU, as well as some provinces of our own country. Refering to the experience of inside or outside the nation, we should establish effective underwriting organizations and reasonable premium calculation,improve related insurance corporation standard, enhance collaboration of the insurance sectors and the environment protection sectors to improve the establishment process of the EPIM.
