China-ASEAN Free Trade Area is the third large Free Trade Area in the world after the Europe Union and North America FTA. In 2004, the Early Harvest Plan, which was the first substantial step for the FTA processing and also the milestone that broke the stalemate of the world agricultural products trade cooperation, was put into practice. This was a model to world agricultural cooperation, and also the fruit of China and ASEAN countries'efforts struggling development. Fruits and vegetables, as the leading actor of the plan, firstly began its "zero tariff' path.On basis of comparative advantage theories, here we analyze the comparative advantage of fruits trade of China and ASEAN, make the status quo clear, show the differences before and after "zero tariff', and conclude the situation and trend of the mentioned. The thesis focuses on policies to develop the fruits trade of China and ASEAN, which means to win more profit for the fruit farmers, and to raise their living standard. To achieve this, the comparative advantage of fruits trade of China and ASEAN is analyzed, and accordingly the source resulting to the status quo is dug out. A SWOT analysis model is established to analyze the advantages and disadvantages, opportunities and threats for China and ASEAN fruits trade. The thesis also adopts the fruits trade data of 1995-2008, and mensurates the comparative advantages of China and ASEAN fruits trade by using the Reveal Comparative Advantage index. On this basis, the policies to promote the fruits trade between China and ASEAN are proposed.Through the quantitative and qualitative analysis referred, we draw the conclusion. The overall comparative advantage of China fruits trade is degrading. Considering respectively about the fruits'type, the China fruits in temperate and subtropical zone are still of comparative advantages but the ones in tropical zone are not, meanwhile, the ASEAN countries have an opposite pattern of comparative advantage of fruits trade with China. By combining all these analysis, the policies to promote the fruit trade of China and ASEAN are:optimizing structure to increase the give-and-take relation between the mentioned countries, transferring the fruits trade policies, enforcing a fruits industrialization and facilitating the fruits trade, etc..
