The Study On Cooperation Of Service Trade Between China And ASEAN

As service has become the core of modern economic development, its role has gradually become more important than other industries in a country's national economy. The position of service trade in international trade has gradually increased, and it increases rapidly than goods trade. To implement a new round of industrial restructuring and promote the development of national economy and trade, we must pay more attention to the importance of trade in services in the modern economy, and then tap fully their potential.Since the establishment of China-ASEAN FTA, the service trade cooperation will be convincing to gradually put on the agenda. China and ASEAN signed the "China - ASEAN Free Trade Agreement" in 2007, open related services to each other, and promote the development of trade in services and strengthen bilateral cooperation. In 2010, China - ASEAN Free Trade Area was established. On October 20th, 2010, at the seventh Expo, the two sides added the "topic of trade in services", collecting information and business opportunities to strengthen exchanges and cooperation, then promoted bilateral cooperation in various fields. We know that China and ASEAN attach great importance to the development of trade in services, pay much attention to bilateral information exchange and cooperation, while we can see that there are foundation and conditions between China and ASEAN countries.At present, China and ASEAN countries have made great achievements in various sectors of trade in services and areas of cooperation. Because of close to the area on both sides and cultural similarity, the tourism industry developed rapidly, and it has become the service trade field of cooperation that has core strengths between China and ASEAN. Due to the reform and innovation of financial sector, and the rapid development of RMB international business, and the establishment and improvement of RMB trading settlement systems, cooperation in the financial industry has a broad development context and market potential. The continuous development of trade in goods promoted the closely related fields, such as logistics, transportation and other service industries, which benefited from the establishment of the China - ASEAN Free Trade Area, also benefited from the continuing escalation of modern technology.Cooperation of Service trade between China-ASEAN has broad developing prospects, this is because there is complementary in resource structure, comparative advantage, industrial structure and economic development. Through analysis of competitiveness index of service trade and comparative advantage index of various industries between China and ASEAN, after a comprehensive analysis, we know China and ASEAN countries have complementary in different sectors. They both sides can work together to improve the fields which have the same advantages. And then they can strengthen analysis of the industry that has complementary, then will get the overall development of trade in services and progress. In addition, the core elements that play a decisive role in service trade provide an important theoretical basis in the cooperation of service trade between China and ASEAN. Development of both sides has important practical significance, no matter for China or ASEAN countries, for the free trade zone, even for the development of the world economy.However, due to inconsistency of stage of development and openness between China and ASEAN countries, and differences on service trade management system, as well as poor information dissemination and communication, there are some obstacles and problems in cooperation. To promote and deepen bilateral service trade and economic development, government, enterprises, associations should strengthen exchanges and dialogues, improve institution building, information exchange, financial support and other aspects of cooperation. By improving the service sectors that has competitive advantage, they can achieve trade complementary between each other, and continue to develop and explore new areas of cooperation, then achieve a deeper level and high level of cooperation.The first chapter describes the background and significance of the main topic of the paper, literature review, research methods and structural arrangements. The second chapter gives a brief introduction on the background of the cooperation between China and ASEAN, then next part describes the current development of cooperation in various sectors of trade in services between China and ASEAN. The third chapter describes the significance of cooperation and analyzes the feasibility of service trade cooperation between China and ASEAN. Mainly through the analysis of data, this part draws the conclusion that they can develop the fields that will make full use of the advantages which they have both. Finally, the last part puts forward the obstacles and problems in the cooperation. According to the problems that exist, from the macro and specific, the last part proposes specific recommendations and countermeasures of how to promote the service trade cooperation between China and ASEAN.
