A Comparative Analysis On The Development Of Services Trade Between China And 5 ASEAN Countries

Nowadays, with the trends of globalization of world economy and adjustment of industry structure, the standard of services has become a symbol of a country's competitiveness in the world. As the most important neighbor of China, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has made a tight relationship in strategic, economic and geopolitical aspects of ethnic culture. Esspetially as the foundation of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA), the commodity trade between China and ASEAN grows rapidly, however, service trade development lags far behind. Since entering new century, China-ASEAN free trade area cooperation framework and the signing of service trade agreement and implementation to bilateral economic brings the opportunities of new development. Service trade cooperation between China and ASEAN has abstracted lots of the focus of the society, the study on the hot issue appeal to great realistic significance.This paper try to study the condition of the coopration between China and five ASEAN countries which based on the trade promote economic theory. With the official figure from 1980 to 2009 publicated by WTO and the econometric tools, this paper makes a compare on the feature of service trade actuality and structure, the competitive advantages, and economic contribution between China and five ASEAN's countries, in addition, we anylisis the obstacles which obstruct the cooperation of CAFTA. At last, we come to the solutions.Firstly, this paper compares the situation of service trade in total, structure and deficit between China and five ASEAN countries. Secondly, this paper reviews the TC index and economic contribution of China and five ASEAN countries. Finally this paper considers the obstacle in economic structure, regional system design, domestic political environment, service trade barriers and the legal system, cultural differences etc., meanwhile this paper puts forward the suggestion accordingly.
