Research On The Interaction Of Urbanization And Industrial Structure Evolution

Existing theories have proved that there are complex relationships between urbanization and industrial structure. However, the studies were premised on developed country in a macro view, which cannot explain the mechanism in a consistency conclusion and be lack of empirical evidences. Now, China is in key period of adjusting of industrial structure and urbanizing, clarify the interaction is good to solve practical problems and to guide the policy making.This paper was based on the interaction of urbanization and the industrial structure, using the combined qualitative and quantitative methods built an interaction model and raised the hypothesis. Using the metrology in panel data, this paper aims to identify the interaction between urbanization and industrial structure evolution in 30 regions of China on the perspective of urbanization, and at last, also considered the impact of regional variation.The empirical results show that urbanization plays a significant influence on the evolution of the industrial structure and causes a series of changes in population, economy and social, but industrial structure isn't the same. The population aggregation effect is the basic motivation of the evolution of industrial structure and raise the level of consumption is the key to upgrading the industrial structure. With the level of urbanization increasing and industrial structure upgrading the promotion of industrial structure is strengthen gradually. Regional variation in the urbanization and the industrial structure of the interactions plays an important role, in the eastern region, a good interaction has been formed, industrial structure promote the urbanization process and in turn the urbanization promoted the high-grade adjustment of industrial structure. But in the middle and western region, the influence is relatively diminished.
