In recent years, the wind power in China is developing quickly. However, with the increasing of capacity of integrated wind power, more and more wind farms'outputs will be limited in a valley period of load due to absence of peak regulation capacity. To improve the capacity can improve the level of accepting wind power by system, and so can reduce the waste of wind power, which means great economic benefit.Therefore, how to improve the capacity of peak regulation is be researched from operation technique and management mechanism aspects in this paper. The main of work and results of research is showed as follows.1. Based on Peak-Shaving operation of hydropower, a new operation strategy which binding the hydro with wind power to regulate the peak is advised. Under the strategy, the reliability of generation can be ensured by real-time compensation adjustment to wind power by hydropower. Thus, the ability of regulation the peak load can be improved by utilizing the electric quantity of wind power in peak hours and the unused capacity of hydropower adequately, which will make more wind power be accepted by system in valley period of load. The analysis shows that the effect of regulating the peak of load by binding system is identical with the effect by single hydropower when the electric quantity of wind power in peak hours is treated as the complement to hydropower. At last, a simple example is used to validate the advised strategy.2. Focus on the question that now utilization scheme of wind power neither guides the peak-load regulation power source develop coordinately with wind farms nor incents the thermal power to provide the services needed when wind power integrated to grid, and based on the consideration to both current policy and present situation of electricity market, a new utilization scheme of wind power in which wind power is utilized mainly by plan and accessorily by market is presented, and then the core issues and their solutions are discussed and analyzed. The analyses show that, compared with current utilization scheme of wind power, the new scheme can guide the peak-load regulation power source develop coordinately with wind farms, incent the thermal power to provide the peak-regulation services needed when wind power integrated to grid, avoid the power grid uneconomical operation, enlarge the receiving range of wind power, and is compatible with current power system operation environment.
