The Study On The Competency Evaluation Of Professional Managers In Tourist Attractions

With the development of tourism, tourist attractions as one part of tourism industry have also been developed rapidly. The development report of 2005 tourism attractions shows the number of tourist attractions in china has reached more than 20,000, which accounts for half of the tourism industry. At the same time, the restriction of general competence and profession knowledge leads to over-exploitation and resource destruction. Excellent professional managers not only help to improve economic performance of operation management, protect environment and natural resources, but also access to better social and economic effects. To select a suitable manager is particularly important to sustainable development of tourist attractions.Based on the review of competence, competency models, research progress, and competency assessment technology, this paper gives a summary of basic theory about competency of tourist attractions professional manager. This research collects competence indicators from literature and position analysis and simplifies the indicators with brainstorm by experts, and then make up questionnaire according to indicators. The analysis of questionnaire determines weights of indicators with AHP. At last, this article gives comprehensive evaluation with Grey Relation Grade. Case analysis verifies the multi-level grey evaluation.This paper will broaden the scope of the evaluation of competency. deepen the competence of application in tourism industry. Evaluation model can rich the theory and offer the ideas and method. This research will be play a decisive role in human resource management, give a basis in job analysis, staff recruitment, training and compensation.
