The global severe scarcity of fresh water resources gives strategic and economical prominence to water industry and makes it to be a sunrise industry which attracts a lot of attentions in the 21st Century. From 90's of the last Century, there was an essential changeover came into being in Chinese government's policies on water industry,China's water market had been gradually opened for various of capitals and the territory and capital monopolization of traditional water industry was broken, then foreign,national and private capitals swarmed into water industry which full of intense competitions never before. Currently, the prime issue enterprises need to figure out is to review that competition pattern of water industry and work out the developing strategy according to their own features.YH Water Group went into the water market in 1997, its management idea of "Water as major main and technology as a fundamental "made it take the place in the domestic front ranks. After several years of development, YH Water Group has become the largest private water group in Shandong Provence, which formed the standard operating process pattern of investment, financing,design, construction and operation, and formed its own complete industrial chain in water field. The author of this paper as the top management of this enterprise and the leader of investment department engaged in the investment and extended business of water market for several years.Through these rich experience in this field, the water market development and the enterprise position was researched and analyzed to get a reasonable position in the water market.In this paper, the policy on water field and competitors it faced was deeply analyzed to get a clear understanding of the territorial private enterprises living environment. With adoption of SWOT and the competitive-model of Porter strategic analyze methods, the characteristics of YH water group was clarified, which makes it set up the reasonable strategic target in the future.
