With the increasing promotion of network planning techniques, theoretical studies have continued to deepen, to date, network planning technology has been recognized and accepted in many countries, as is currently the world's most advanced and effective methods of scientific management, network planning technology application in practice, constantly get a promotion. However, the traditional network planning techniques to CPM / PERT as the core. We are positive affirmation of the traditional network planning and management of technology in the construction of outstanding results, but also had to point out the existence of many problems, such as: duration estimation process is too long, too long duration estimation has rarely been completed ahead of schedule, process completed ahead of schedule can not be effectively used, the line merged with the parallel task to bring project delays, management and other key variable.The key chain technology through the pursuit of minimizing the project duration, dynamic management project progress, and the task of coordination and communication between predecessor, after close to help enterprises solve the lower project costs, shorten the project duration of issues, helping enterprises to reduce the number of project rework, improve project net present value. This not only takes into account the problem of resource constraints exist in reality, but also to non-certainly within the project into account, and then through a rational set the buffer time to ensure the project completed on schedule. Therefore, the critical chain project to become the new business management ideas, especially for larger projects of non-positive, such as new product development projects. Accordingly, this paper reviewed the relevant critical chain project management based on the theory, combined with new product development projects X specific examples, key chain technology in new product development of empirical research undertaken to have an important practical significance.Specifically, the main contents of this paper include: from the "theory of constraints, aggregation principle and the central limit theorem," the three aspects, elaborated the theory of critical chain technology for the discussion later laid a theoretical foundation; discusses the critical chain project management, the basic method used, the main interpretation of the critical chain, critical path method, PERT, and critical chain project management concepts; analysis of critical chain project management advantages; and from "determine the project's constraints, and tap the potential constraints and buffer management" in three areas, discusses the critical chain project management, the basic method; the progress of a new product development example to explain the specific application of critical chain.
