Research On Development Solutions For Economic Hotel In Hunan Province

Domestic tourism market of our country has prospered, and domestic tourists have been the major parts of this market for the rapid development of our economy, the remarkable improvement of living standards of our people, and the occurrence of "golden week" since 1999. There is great need for economic hotels with standardized management and reasonable price, for high-grade hotels are too expensive for the common people, and social hotels can't offer the standardized services that people need. Statistics has shown that the ratio of economic hotels and high-grade hotels is 7:3 in western countries, and that ratio is less than 10% in our country. In Hunan province, there are nearly no economic hotels. Hence, the thesis is written for doing some research on development solutions of economic hotels in Hunan province, based on the characteristics of economic hotels and the current situations of tourism market in Hunan province.The method of literature and comparison analysis is mainly used. The thesis is divided into five parts. In part one, the author expounds the background, purpose and meaning of the research, and arranges the frame and techniques of the research for the whole thesis. In part two, the author explains the related definitions of economic hotel, summarizes theories related to economic hotel, and expounds the current situations of development and research of economic hotel home and abroad. In part three, the author expounds the history of development of tourism and hospitality in Hunan province, and analyzes the problems. In part four, the author applies for SWOT to analyze the development of economic hotels in Hunan province. In part five, the author puts forward some solutions for the development of economic hotels. The conclusion is drawn by research that economic hotels in Hunan have bright future with great opportunities, which need the cooperation of government, trade managing department and hospitality industries. Evaluation standards and development solutions put forward by thesis is of some guiding significance.
