The international financial crisis has not disappeared, the international political and economic situation has emerged new changes in 2011. There is Instability in West Asia and North Africa, Libya's situation has aroused the concern of the world. Japan's 9.0 quake triggered a large tsunami, resulting in leakage of Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant, causing heavy loss of life and property of the Japanese and had a profound impact to the world economy. Meanwhile, there is still a terrorist organization, the Somali pirates and other destabilizing factors. Peace and development in a major trend, there are many international and regional hot spots that need concerns. As a derived demand of international trade, shipping market is increasingly important with the development of international trade and becoming an important driving force which can promote economic globalization and regional economic integration. Meanwhile, the shipping market is a complex and volatile market, for it is not only can be affected by the international political-economic situation and natural conditions,but also by the impact of war and other emergencies which are difficult to be grasped and predicted.Energy is the leading force in the nature. It exists in every stage, and can maintain the normal operation of the world. At the same time, energy theory is the mature theory of physics. This article associates the changing process of shipping market from the role of energy in the nature world, and starts from the research of supply and demand of shipping market to make supply and demand as the two particles in physics, and then make the scale of supply and demand as the size of the two particles so as to establish the links of shipping market and physics. Then, according to the shipping supply changes over time, this article introduce the knowledge of the dynamics of variable mass, to establish the Equation between the kinetic energy, potential energy and the power of conservative forces. Finally, according to the shipping market characteristic and the definition of the shipping market potential energy, this article establishs the energy model of shipping market.In order to prove the applicability of the energy model of shipping market, this article applys the model to the analysis of dry bulk shipping market. By solving the shipping demand of dry bulk shipping market, shipping supply of dry bulk shipping market and model parameters, this article obtaines the potential energy of dry bulk shipping market and use the revised BDI index changes and the potential energy to establish a relationship between changes in the market and the potential energy.The results prove that the energy model of shipping market is available.The energy changes of the shipping market is a new perspective to analysis the shipping marketthe, understanding this can help shipping company managers to better understand the changes in shipping market and make the right decision.
