Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea o n 24 August 1992, both countries have maintained friendly cooperative ties in every a rea. As the value of trade increases continually on both sides, the level of trade unity between the countries also rises. The trade structure of China and South Korea is th e direct reflection of the countries'trade situation and content, specifically mirroring t heir economic and trade ties, terms of trade and interest distribution, as well as affect ing their production and trade patterns, their positions in the international division of labor and other statuses. Therefore, the study of Sino-South Korean trade structure has important theoretical and realistic significance.Using international trade theory as basis and the trade structures of China and So uth Korea as research objects, this paper combines theoretical and empirical analysis t o analyze the current situation of the development of the two countries'trade structur es, find out existing problems, and suggest various countermeasures to adjust and imp rove the Sino-South Korean trade structure.The paper is divided into 5 parts. The introduction mainly presents the research significance of this paper, the overall structure and the research methods used, and th e paper's innovations and shortcomings. The second part mainly describes the trade si tuation between China and South Korea. It introduces the current trade situation, the history of trade and the development process, as well as the current situation of Sout h Korean investment in China. The third part uses a large amount of collected and or ganized data as foundation to analyze the structural change of commodities South Kor ea trades with China, focusing on the analysis of the import and export of processed and technology products by South Korea since the establishment of diplomatic relation s in 1992, and the change in trade balance. The fourth part calculates and analyzes t he trade integration index, market competitive advantage index, trade specialization ind ex, index of intra-industry trade and other trade structure indexes of trade between Ch ina and South Korea to elaborate the reasons for the changes in their trade structure. The fifth part suggests solutions for the problems in Sino-South Korean trade. Through the study of the trade structure of Sino-South Korean trade, this paper n ot only has realistic significance and serves as guidance for promoting continual devel opment of Sino-South Korean trade, but at the same time has reference value for the improvement of trade and industrial structure, import and export commodities, foreign trade structure and other areas for trade between China and South Korea.
