Analysis Of The Causes Of Sino-US Trade Frictions Based On The Structure Of Trade Commodity

Sino-US trade friction has intensified in recent years and has become one of the focus of attention at home and abroad.The development of Sino-US trade is not only related to the vital interests of the two countries,but also has a greater impact on the smooth operation of the global economy.Therefore,clarifying which factors have led to Sino-US trade frictions and how to alleviate Sino-US trade relations has become a real problem urgently needed to be resolved in China's foreign trade development.Based on this,based on the analysis of relevant research by scholars at home and abroad,this article cuts in from the perspective of trade structure and explores its impact on Sino-US trade friction.This article first expounds the impact of changes in Sino-US trade structure on trade friction from the theoretical mechanism,and then reviews the relevant research of domestic and foreign scholars,proving that it is of theoretical and practical significance to enter into the study of Sino-US trade friction from the perspective of trade structure.Taking the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States as the starting point of time,this article studies the relationship between changes in the structure of Sino-US trade commodities and Sino-US trade friction in three stages(1979-2000,2001-2007,and 2008-2018).Use the International Trade Standard Classification SITC code to classify the structure of Sino-US trade commodities,quantify Sino-US trade relations with the number of trade remedy measures taken by the United States against Chinese exports to the United States,and analyze and calculate the trade similarity index in three stages.Finally,through the establishment of Granger causality test model to explore the impact of Sino-US trade commodity structure on Sino-US trade friction.This gives China's suggestions when dealing with trade frictions.The time interval selected in this paper is large,covering 40 years of Sino-US trade-related data from 1979 to 2018,and measures the similarity index of commodity structure for each SITC coding category over the years.The data is more comprehensive and it is easier to clarify the impact of Sino-US trade commodity structure on trade friction more accurately.Finally,it is obtained through theoretical and empirical analysis The following conclusions:(1)The structure of China ' simports of goods from the United States has changed little,but the structure of China 's exports to the United States has undergone major changes.Sino-US trade has shifted from inter-industry trade to intra-industry trade.Similarities(especially capital Intensive products),gradually increasing,at the same time,friction has increased correspondingly;(2)changes in the structure of Sino-US trade commodities have a greater impact on Sino-US trade frictions,especially the proportion of capital-intensive commodities in the trade structure The gradual increase has led to an increase in the similarity of Sino-US trade,specifically the SITC5 and SITC7 commodities under the SITC code(ie chemicals and their manufactured products,machinery and transportation equipment products).Finally,based on the conclusions of the above studies,it shows that changes in the structure of Sino-US trade commodities have a greater impact on Sino-US trade frictions,and proposes targeted countermeasures and suggestions from the three levels of government,industry,and enterprise.
