This research discussed the structure of adaptive performance of employees in organizations in China. Based on literature studying, we collected scale items by interview and open-questionnaires, which formed the initial scale. We revised the scale through pretest and finally got the formal scale. After giving out more than 400 questionnaires, we got a seven-factor structure of adaptive performance by exploratory factor analysis and we tested the structure by confirmative factor analysis. We also discussed the relationship between achievement goal orientation, self-efficacy and adaptive performance. At last, the influence of demographics was tested on adaptive performance. The results are as follows:1. Adaptive performance of employees in organizations in China is made up of seven factors:solving problems creatively, adapting to diverse culture, dealing with work pressure, on-job learning continuously, communication and improvement, adapting to complex interrelationship and dealing with emergency.2. Learning goal orientation and prove goal orientation have a positive influence on adaptive performance.3. Self-efficacy has mediate effect on Learning goal orientation and adaptive performance. Self-efficacy has mediate effect on prove goal orientation and adaptive performance4. There are significant differences on adaptive performance among gender, education, working years, company types, position rank and working types.
