With the rapid development of China's economy and the continuous improvement of People's living standards in recent years, the demand for energy has been increasing greatly. But in view of current domestic energy reserves, exploitation and utilization of China, the prospect is not very optimistic. And as the gradual raise of the people's awareness of environmental protection, high emissions of greenhouse gases of conventional energy sources such as coal and oil, they not only deteriorate our domestic environment, but also put China in a very disadvantageous and passive position in the international climate negotiations. Therefore, China is making great efforts to explore other clean energy utilization technologies such as solar, wind and biomass when exploring conventional energy sources such as coal, oil and gas. But when facing the serious energy situations, we found it difficult to break China's energy dilemma alone in the short term. In order to maintain the rapid and stable development of China's national economy and ensure China's energy security, our government has been vigorously implementing the "going global"strategy and via international cooperation to realize the diversification of our energy supply in recent years. And in this process, Brazil, the superpower in Latin America is undoubtedly one of our ideal partners because of surprisingly potential energy reserves. In addition to its huge deep-sea oil reserves, it is also our rare potential partners because of developed clean energy technologies. This paper chooses Sino-Brazil energy cooperation in the new era as its theme. The author analyzes the necessities and possibilities of the energy cooperation between China and Brazil carefully from the energy situations the two countries are facing. Then the author describes the general situations of energy cooperation between the two countries and the problems and the causes based on lots of facts. After that, the author focuses on the basic approach and the main way for the energy cooperation between China and Brazil, especially in the field of new energy. The paper says the two countries are highly complementary in the energy cooperation, and have large space and bright prospects for cooperation. In the end, the author holds the opinion that the two sides should regard the energy Cooperation as a platform to promote the economy cooperation, then push the Sino-Brazil bilateral political relations to a new level.
