| Since the beginning of 1960s, Taiwan has taken various industrial policies to actively undertake the industry transfer from USA and Japan in the face of the increasingly changed circumstances. The inflow of foreign investment has optimized Taiwan's resource allocation and facilitated its technology improvement, which boosts Taiwan's economy. After decades' evolution, Taiwan's industrial development has made great achievements; the export structures have got constantly improved; the technology-intensive industry has got fast development. With the development of economy, Taiwan has sped up its industry transfer outside. The industry transfer has played a positive role in the optimization of Taiwan's industrial structures.Based on theories of international division of labor, international direct investment and international industry transfer, this paper takes industry transfer as its breakpoint, analyzes the interaction among industry undertaking, transfer and structure optimization in Taiwan area. By normative analysis, this paper makes a correlation analysis on Foreign Direct Investment and Taiwan's economy development based on the research results of the two sides of the Taiwan Straits and the investigations of Labor Union of Taiwan Enterprises. It also makes use of impulse response function based on VAR model and predictive variance to analyze the interaction between industry undertaking and industry transfer.This research explores that there exists good interaction between industry undertaking and industry transfer. Taiwan has realized its fast development by bringing in FDI to undertake international transfer and completed the optimization of industrial structures by industry transfer. With Taiwan increasingly investment abroad, overseas Taiwan enterprises, especially those in mainland, have injected fresh vigor to Taiwan economy. Finally, this paper puts forward some enlightenment to the industry up-grading in Taiwan area according to the results. |
