Desertification has become a global hot issue. China is one of the most serious desertification of countries in the world. Desertification has become the key to restrict China's economic, social and environment sustainable development. As far as we know, Demographic factor is the dominant factor in the development of desertification. Irrational behavior of human resource utilization is a direct result of land degradation, eventually leading to desertification. Mu Us Sand land is a famous one of the four sand areas, located in pastoral areas, the ecological environment is fragile, and the land degradation is very serious. Production of local farmers is a typical representative of the decertified areas of farming methods and breeding habits.Based on the theory of family life cycle, this study learned from the existing theories and related research results, By investigation and the analysis of the socio-economic statistics in Mu Us Sand land (Inner Mongolia Wushenqi, Etuokeqianqi and Yuyang District of Yulin City), selecting a family as a unit, the paper analysis the influence of family life cycle factors, personal factors, regional factors and policy factors on the Mu Us Sand land farmers cultivated land resources, grassland resources, water resources and fuel wood resource utilization behavior by the economics and statistical methods. The study draws the conclusions that family factors have a huge impact of Mu Us Sand land's farmers' resource use behavior. In different family life cycle, family has different in population, age structure and learning actions which directly affect their use of resources.Finally, the solutions of the conflict between Mu Su areas population and natural resources as follows:(1) Controlling the number of natural increase of family population; (2) Developing vigorously education and improving the quality of the local family population; (3) Widening employment channels to circulation of agricultural surplus labor force of young adults; (4) The implement of ecological migration policy effectively; (5) Keeping on implementing of farmland to forest(grass), grazing and other series of the conservation and restoration of natural resources policies.
