Study On Hazardous Substances Management For DY Company's Suppliers

In recent years, every country and its government is speeding economic development and also pay more and more attention to environmental protection. In order to solve the problem of electronic waste, European Union has promulgated RoHS and WEEE directives firstly, which focus on restriction of hazardous substances in electrical & electronic product. Other countries and regions promulgated and implemented electrical an electronic laws and regulations after RoHS and WEEE directives issued. such as Chinese "General guidelines of controlling pollution of electronic information products "(it is the 39th command of China electronic information section),Japanese "The marking for presence of the specific chemical substances for electrical and electronic equipment"(JSC C 0950) and "Material Composition Declaration for Electro technical Products" (JIG 101), "Connecticut Published Covered Electronic Device Recycling Act", "California Proposition 65", etc. And some corporations also issue the hazardous substances request to follow these environmental directives and laws, as SONY SS-00259(Ver9.0), HP Standard 011 General Specification for the Environment(rev L), DELL Materials Restricted for Use (Specification Number:6T198 Rev:All-00), Lenovo Engineering Specification (41A7731,including 33 kinds of hazardous substances). As OEM manufacturer, how to effectively manage hazardous substances in suppliers'product to achieve in improving management efficiency, reduce costs and risks, synchronously meet the requirements of dirctives, regulations and customers, which has become the urgent problems of operations management that DY company must face and solve.This research focused on the practice of hazardous substances'management of DY company that is the world's top three suppliers in optoelectronic industry. on the basis of the green supply chain, quality management system, process management system for hazardous substances and other theories knowledge, this research adopt case analysis, chart analysis, logical reasoning and other methods of supplier management of hazardous substances in order to improve the existing suppliers'management of hazardous substances to form a new core competencies, but also provide references for other OEM companies.This research describe purposes of supplier hazardous substances management from environmental directives, law, regulate, customer request, Hazardous substances management status of DY Corporation, problem and stress of DY Corporation. It rectify direction of supplier hazardous substances management for DY Corporation through academic research and analysis of national and overseas on hazardous substances management. It finds out actual problem of DY Corporation through particularity analysis of DY Corporation actuality on supplier hazardous substances management.
