In 2006, the World Tourism and Travel Council (WTTC) released a report in Beijing, which predicted China will become the world's second largest tourism country in the next 10 years. While, the key to achieve this goal is the Tour Talents, so, tourism institutions have increased the total students in school. However, the Inadequate can not be obscured. In the 30 years development of China's tourism higher education, although it has made remarkable achievements, there are many problems make it lagging behind the development of the industry and social needs, far from it should have. And the most prominent issues should be the construction of curriculum, which has gradually become a bottleneck in the development of tourism higher education. In China, tourism higher education has been divided into academic education and vocational education, as two different levels of education, vocational training objectives is to foster high-quality workers consistent with social and economic development, practical talents working in the first line, so its curriculum is professional practice courses based on the theoretical knowledge. Whether the number or the depth of the Theoretical course, basic knowledge and skills is the key, it generally requires a "wide" and "shallow" knowledge structure; while the setting of Professional courses focus on comprehensive and practical, the performance model of the course is rough outline. Undergraduate curriculum for tourism is to develop senior professionals which have management expertise and engaged in tourism management in tourism enterprises and institutions. With the guidance of relations between the knowledge to built up a series of courses which have strong theory correlations. By learning it can enable students to grasp knowledge and skills. They have different training objectives and training model, which determines their different curriculum. In this paper, we try to explore and discover their own problems on the basis of the comparative study between these two education systems, improve it and achieve effective training to promote the development of our tourism education and strong our tourism economy. The research process uses many research methods, such as survey study, literature study, case study, comparative analysis and so on. Based on the analysis of China's current vocational and undergraduate curriculum system of tourism, we extract Shanghai Tourism College, Shandong Tourism College, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, Xiamen University as cases, study the status of there curriculum system, to complete the comparison of the two curriculum model, and find the problems and deficiencies. On the basis of the existing curriculum, preserve their useful elements in the curriculum, improve their weaknesses and shortcomings, and make appropriate adjustments on curriculum development, training objectives, course content, and curriculum implementation to make a greater contribution on the development of tourism higher education.
