Information technology (IT) is one of the important elements of production and living. The information construction in rural areas has become the most important task of the solution to"issues concerning agriculture, the countryside and farmers". As the core of the information construction in rural area, the effective dissemination mode of information will solve rural information asymmetry between supply and demand.This source is the subject of the Spark Program (2005EA106015-01): mechanism and pattern for rapid dissemination of science and technology information in the rural. Based on the theories of information economics and system science, the paper is centered on current information dissemination in the rural areas. Based on pre-existing 8000 pieces of questionnaire date made by the project team, current situation of farmers'demands for agricultural information is tudied; in 31 regions using structure and funcitional analysis the initial background, features, main functions and aspects of construction experience are introduced and the tyoical modes of information dissemination in several areas are compared.Through research, the study has reached the following conclusions and suggestions:1.The demand emphosises of information is various in different regions. Farmers in relatively poor regions have much stronger demands than other regions, 42.31% has information need in the westen regions. Information of science and technology covers the largest rate, about 42.43% in the overall needs.2. The rate of the sources of information needs from the government sector is higher than paid intermediaries and associations. TV as the ideal information medium accounted for 80%; the proportion of using the internet is lower than the rat of telephone, phones and newspapers; the science and technology train in all areas of technology penetration is not high, between 2% -3%.3. Although the willingness to pay is based on the local economic situation and the income of rural households, but 82% farmers still tend to get free information; the ability to pay and the willingness to pay of farmers are compensation to some extent inconsistent, the average rate of willingness to pay is 15% in all of these areas, where have the same willingness. But the east farmers have strong capacity to pay.4. The two factors of information dissemination services and technological level which affect the information needs of farmers greatest, the correlation coefficients are 0.343 and 0.139.5. Information of science and technology information in rural areas covers the largest proportion in information need, dissemination of information services focuses on rural science and technology information.6. From several research rural information dissemination patterns, it can be seen the operation mode is gradually developed to the enterprise as the main body of the social development of market-oriented mode participated. And media utilization mode is advanced to TV, phone, computer. 7. Agricultural technology information service system "110" is the development strategic mode diversification, the efficient information resources construction and utilization of the resources configuration mode, several parties involved and various linkage of rural informatization service mode;In different regions it can be as the reference model.Based on the results, the author proposes several countermesasures and suggestions to improve the development of information dissemination.
