The tourist destination image research, through nearly four decades'development has become one of the core tourist destination research. This paper, not only reviews the research results of tourist destination image both home and abroad from the perspective of communication,but also elaborates the relevant theories and communication of destination image systematically. what is more,it expounds the measurement and the strategy of tourism destination image communication and takes the Zhoushan Archipelago as an illustration. Specifically, this research includes six parts:First, in the review, the author sums up the concept, communication elements of tourism destination image from the perspective of communication. Secondly, argues that tourism destination image is essentially a condensation of tourism destination features, remarkableness and comprehensive information the tourist destination image. The image of tourism destination takes the original information as its material, forms by means of communication mechanism and acts on the tourists'behaviors through their psychological black case. Third, the the subjects, medias and patterns of tourism destination image communication are summarized. Fourth, sums up measurement research information of the tourism destination image, thus creates a method of measurement of tourism destination image based on the information communication process. Fifth, applies the communication process-based measurement method of destination image to measure the tourist information of the Zhoushan Islands, and poses the advise of optimization of tourism information image; at the same time, discusses communication Strategy of tourism information image of the Zhoushan Islands on Integrated marketing communications theory. Finally, papers are reviewed and views are summarized. This paper aims at strengthening the concerns the tourism destination image research gives to the communication process by constructing the image of tourist destination information theory. Its communication research in China should go beyond the level of pure propaganda expanding largely to all the processes of the image generation and operation as well as to all its links of the image information flow.
