The basic situations about rice planting and rice insurance in Fujian have been introduced, especially to classify risk of planting rice and its characteristics have been analyzed. On this basis, after qualitative analysis about farmers'rice insurance purchase behaviors, Empirical analysis of survey data have been done by Probit model. It is considered that coefficient of variability of rice production, years that farmers engaged in rice production, rice planting area, Ever heard that someone was awarded or not, satisfaction with insurance services, the ratio about insured and output value, are remarkable.Plant protection, finance, insurance, weather, crop cultivation, geology and other disciplines have been involved in the study. The study has certain characteristics. There are rare researches about rice insurance in Fujian. From the point of view that about farmers'rice insurance purchase behaviors, the remarkable influencing factors have been defined by interview, research, empirical analysis. In order to answer the question how to develop rice insurance better in Fujian, from the point of purchase behavior of households, measures and proposals have been made in government, insurance companies, and farmers. An effective exploration of the influencing factor of buying rice insurance by the farmers in Fujian province has been performed, in order to provide some references for the construction of rice insurance system where including Fujian and other areas.
