As an important variety of land use, the farmland is the significant material basis of the human survival and development, and the origin of human food and clothing as well. It's critical for food safety to keep the quality and quantity of the farmland. The issue of land use changing and protecting is becoming the vital constituent of LUCC (land use/cover change). Strengthening the research and analyzing the value driver of the farmland use change is propitious to utilize the farmland resource reasonably, ensure the regional food security and improve the development of the regional harmony society.Since Reform and Opening, as the economic progress and the population increase, the total tendency of the farmland resource change converts to other utilization patterns and the total area is decreasing. In global food safety crisis, the loss of the farmland resource is brought into focus of the government and all sectors of the community. how to deal with the contact between the progress and the protecting the farmland reasonably is the burning question at the moment. Protecting farmland is the issue of founding and stabilizing country due of our national conditions. As the development of economy and the progress of industrialization and urbanization, the revision of the agricultural structures and the protecting and building of the Ecological Environment, which produce increasing the requirement of the farmland resource. And requirement aggravated after China joins the WTO, so the tendency of the farmland protect is austerity. Under such circumstances, researching the course of the farmland change and its driving mechanism will be positive to establish the laws and policies of protecting farmland, optimizing resource distribution and advancing the efficiency of resource use.Based on three districts, four counties and one city of Fuyang, with the constantly development of the social economy, increasing of the population and the continually express course of the industrialization and urbanization in Fuyang, the farmland resource is cutting down sharply. As matter of fact, combining the statistical data of the land and social economy in Fuyang, the factors of affecting the land change are analyzed through GIS software and the SPSS mathematical statistics software; the forces of change are construed by using Principal Component analysis and Clusterwise Linear Regression in order to reveal the driving mechanism of land change in Fuyang; the policy instruments are put forward to protecting farmland in this article aim at the driving mechanism, and provide for exploiting and protecting farmland to provide foundation to sustained, coordinated development of economy and society.Based on the guide of farmland resource use theory and sustainable development ideology, adopting quantitative analysis method such as statistical analysis and multiple linear regression model multi-disciplinary qualitative study including review of literature, field work, systematology, plutonium and bionomics, this text researches the current situation and variation of the farmland use in Fuyang, the main content includes six sections as follows:Part one is the preface, discusses the background and significance of the topics, the progress of research at home and abroad and current research topics.Part two is the overview of the survey region, introduces the nature context and socioeconomic condition of the survey region.Part three is the research on dynamic change of the farmland, analyes the variation of quantity and space of the farmland.Part four is based on the Section 3, combines qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis to analyze the type, mode of action and intension of the dynamic driving factors.Part five aims to the dynamic driving factors of the farmland in Fuyang, advancing the reasonable countermeasure of exploiting and protecting the farmland.Part six is the conclusion and deficiency, summarizes the main achievements and deficiencies of the text and crystallizing the farther research direction.
