A Study On Luban Belief

LuBan,known as Gong Shuban, is an outstanding inventor in Chinese history. According to historical records, he is one of the craftsmen who made the most inventions, so since two thousand years, he was revered as "Patriarch" by later generations. Lu Ban's belief, not only exists in China Shandong, Hebei, Shanxi, Henan, Nanjing, Shanghai and other Chinese Han areas, but also wide spreads in Hunan, Hubei, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Heilongjiang, Jilin and other ethnic minorities. Lu Ban is not only a historical figure, but also a glorified, deified wisdom person. It mainly reflects the pursuit of wisdom and the spirit of excellence. In modern times, as a folk belief, the artistic charm of Lu Ban already exists. Lu Ban, the ancient outstanding craftsmen, will continue to abound Chinese oral literature. LuBan is an exemplification of the wise, industrious and innovative Chinese nation, and long-lasting effects the nation's spirit and character, so it should be vigorously promoted.The paper consists of the following three parts:Part one is an introduction, in which the research content, methods, significance and innovation are introduced. In addition, the previous research findings related to LuBan Belief are introduced.Part two is the main body, in which the Lu Ban Belief is studied and discussed from multiple sides and different angles. It consists of four chapters. Chapter one clarifies and explores the historical evolution of Lu Ban Belief by studying the reason, expression and belief characteristic. Chapter two discusses the reasons of the development and evolution of LuBan Belief with the folk belief theory and combining its characteristic. Chapter three discusses the magnification phenomenon of LuBan Belief in industry, region and family. Chapter four analyses the modern transformation of LuBan Belief. Based on these studies, the traditional cultural significance of LuBan Belief is discussed, and pointing out that LuBan Belief reflects the pursuit of the "can" in material level and the "clever" in skill level.Part three concludes the paper, and point out that LuBan is not only a historical figure, but also a glorified, deified wisdom person. LuBan belief is a complex social phenomenon and cultural phenomena, and the spirit of Lu Ban mainly reflects the pursuit of wisdom and the spirit of excellence.
