The Significance Of Folk Belief In Nowadays By Study The Folk Belief And Fisherman's Life In Daishan Island

Folk belief is always one of the most important parts in the traditional folklore study . With the trend of Ocean Economy , folklore experts focus their study on coastland instead of inland area gradually. There have been already a lot of achievements in Ocean spirit and the island belief, but most of them base on the island of whole country or a maritime space perhaps, that is to say, ithe case study of island is still weak now. This thesis takes Daishan Island as an example, and studies the relationship between the local folk belief and local fisherman's life. Then we explore to folks belief for a meaning of island based on the front study.Five chapters are included in this thesis.Chapter one is a general introduction on Daishan Island which is the typical model because of its history origin and development. It also explains the function that Fishery has in Formation and development of culture and folk belief in Daishan island.Chapter two. Using the data gained from the investigation of countryside, we analyze the folk belief in fishermen's life and indicates its meaning.Chapter three . We analyze the primary position of fishermen in folk belief. As the primary subject in folk belief, fishermen influenced the keynote of folk belief in whole Daishan Island because of their particular identity and emotion. From this aspect, we can conclude that fishermen's daily life and produce have infected the folk belief so much in whole island.Chapter four. In this chapter, we further explains the meaning of folk belief on the level of history origin and development by discussing the change of folk belief, and it therefore brings to Daishan Island influence.Chapter five. This part indicates that the local folk belief reserved a mount of memory about fishery because of close contact between Daishan folk belief and fishermen's daily life. Although it contains some negative infection, this kind of folk belief is still a very important part of Island Culture. And it should be used and developed properly.The appendix part lays out some interrelated content by pictures.
